Dog Training – Teaching Focus or 'Look at Me'

Sam is helping me demonstrate one dog training strategy for teaching ‘look at me’. In another video I posted, I showed how I used luring to teach ‘look at me’ on cue. However, when I added distractions, I needed to restart the learning curve and saw it as an opportunity to try this strategy instead. What I love about this is that Sam is in complete control of his own decision where to focus his attention. He learns by the consequences of his decisions. *If* he chooses to look at me, *then* he gets a treat. *If* he chooses to focus on the distraction, he doesn’t get the treat. Guess which decision he ultimately chooses? For step by step tips, please visit my blog here:
